What the assessment covers

• Review of the information you provide

  We look at one person’s name, approximate dates, places, relatives and the documents and links you describe. We distinguish information presented as established from family assumptions that still need checking.

• Defining the next research goal

  Based on your description, we identify a useful first question. It might concern a birthplace, the relevant parish or a document that could help distinguish people with the same name.

• Assessing possibilities and missing details

  We explain which clues help narrow the search and which gaps may make it difficult. If the starting information is too general, we suggest what to ask relatives or look for in documents held by your family.

• Selecting sources for your case

  We identify relevant directions, such as vital-record indexes, registers for the stated place, an archive catalogue or a digital library. You receive links and an explanation of how each source may help your particular case.

• Putting the steps in order

  We suggest what to check first, which details to use in your searches and when to consider a different direction. Where the information warrants it, we point out the need to try surname or place-name variants.

What your PDF contains

A short, structured plan about one person: the starting information, the next research objective, suggested sources with links, an order of steps and key details to establish. The report helps you take the next step. It is not a record of an in-depth investigation or confirmation that a certificate has been found.

What to include in your request

Tell us who you are researching and what you want to learn. Add known dates and places, parents’ or spouse’s names and links to documents you already have. Distinguish information from documents from family stories. If something is unknown, say so rather than guessing.

Work time and package limits

The 99 zł price includes up to 30 minutes of work, including the report. The priorities are assessing your information and planning the next steps. The package does not include hours of browsing scans, building a family tree, ordering documents or visiting an archive. Finding a specific record is not promised; the outcome is a plan suited to the available clues.

An example of a suitable request

“I know my great-grandmother’s surname and that she came from near Płock. I have an approximate birth year and want to know which databases and documents to start with.” This is suitable for an initial assessment and research plan.

What the in-depth research covers

• Review of existing findings

  We analyse your description, documents and links. We identify information with a cited source, gaps and discrepancies worth investigating. This establishes priorities for work focused on one person.

• Searching for further documents online

  We select available collections for the places and periods associated with your ancestor. Depending on the case, we look for birth, marriage, death, residence or other information that may connect facts already known.

• Immediate family connections

  We examine parents, spouses and children named in the subject’s records. We describe relationships supported by documents and flag those needing further checks. The research does not automatically extend to every branch of the family.

• Comparing records from different sources

  We compare names, ages, places and relatives. Where records differ, we explain what supports a connection and what weakens it. We account for the possibility of several people sharing similar details.

• Organising the timeline

  We arrange established or approximate events chronologically, identify places associated with each record and note gaps between them. We do not add events merely to make the story appear complete.

• Assessing confidence in the findings

  We distinguish information documented in sources from working hypotheses. For significant conclusions, we explain the supporting evidence and its limits. Where information is insufficient, we leave a question open instead of creating an apparently certain connection.

• Planning further research

  We identify promising leads, documents needed to resolve gaps and any need for material unavailable online. Your next commission or independent research can then begin from a documented starting point.

What your detailed PDF contains

A report covering the goal and scope, the key starting information, sources checked, findings about your ancestor and identified immediate family connections. It includes a structured timeline, discussion of significant documents, links and available scans. It also addresses discrepancies, confidence in the conclusions and open questions. Its length reflects the material found, rather than a promised page count.

How to prepare your materials

Identify one person and describe your main questions. Provide known dates, places and family relationships. Add links to documents and previous findings. If you use someone else’s family tree, explain whether its connections cite records or other sources.

Work time and package limits

The 799 zł price includes up to 5 hours of work, including analysis, document comparison and report preparation. It covers one ancestor and immediate family connections relevant to their story. It is not a complete multigenerational tree, a full history of a lineage or field research. Paid copies, travel and further family branches require a separate quote. The number of findings depends on available material; we do not guarantee a specific number of identified people.
